There is an interesting similarity between the trumpet and soprano voice, particularly in their tonal ranges. This chamber recital features compositions by Alessandro Scarlatti and Wolfgang Plagge, composers born centuries apart yet united in their exploration of having the trumpet mimic the soaring lines of the voice and vice versa. Following this theme, soprano Íris Björk Gunnarsdóttir, trumpetist Ingibjörg Ragnheiður Linnet and pianist Herdís Ágústa Linnet will also present their own arrangements of works by Jórunn Viðar and Richard Strauss, where the extraordinary young performers will experiment with exposing the similarities of their instruments through repetitive motifs, creating a dialogue between the trumpet and vocal lines.

This concert, illuminating the symbiotic relationship between trumpet and voice, celebrates the similarities between these two distinct instruments. Through this exploration, audiences will be treated to an exciting experience, where music and expression intertwine in a dialogue not often seen in chamber performances.
