Herdís Ágústa Linnet holds a Bachelor’s degree in classical piano performance from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and will finish her master’s degree from the same school this year. Her teachers in Stockholm have been prof. Anders Kilström and prof. Stefan Bojsten. Before moving to Stockholm, Herdís studied with Svana Víkingsdóttir and Brynhildur Ásgeirsdóttir in Reykjavík and Kópavogur, Iceland. Herdís played for many years with the Iceland Symphony Youth Orchestra and other youth orchestras in Iceland, both trumpet and piano/celesta. She has as well been a member of the Hamrahlid Choir which Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir conducted. Herdís has played with the Royal Technology Choir in Stockholm, appeared as a soloist in Edvard Grieg’s piano concerto with Sinfóníuhljómsveit unga fólksins and performed at Seigla chamber music festival in 2023 with her trio. Herdís seeks inspiration from theater, jazz music and dancing as well as having composed a few pieces for choir. Herdís is a receiver of a grant from Birgir Einarsson’s memorial fund, in 2023, which has through the years supported prominent Icelandic pianists for further studies. Herdís received a grant from “Den Nordiska Första S:t Johannislogens Jubelfond”, which supports young outstanding  art students in Sweden and Finland, in 2024.
