Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir finished her ABSRM diploma at the Reykjavík Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts in 2010 under the guidance of Signý Sæmundsdóttir and Ólöf Kolbrún Harðardóttir. She studied in Berlin with Janet Williams and Kathryn Wright in 2008-2009, and has attended private classes with Jón Þorsteinsson in Utrecht. In 2017 she finished her Bachelors degree in music communication from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts. She has taken part in masterclasses with Kristinn Sigmundsson, Jón Þorsteinsson. David Jones, Elisabeth Meyer-Topsöe, Peter Spissky, Alexander Schmalz, Þóra Einarsdóttir, Guðrún Jóhanna Ólafsdóttir, Margreet Honig, Marcel Boone.
Hildigunnur is very active in the church music scene in Iceland and has sung the alto solos of many Oratorios. She is a member of the chamber choir Schola Cantorum, and a founding member of Cantoque, which specializes mostly in baroque music.
Hildigunnur has performed as a soloist with the Icelandic Symphony orchestra, Icelandic Opera and various orchestras in Iceland and in Scandinavia.. Hildigunnur has also premiered numerous compositions by Icelandic contemporary composers and has held several lieder concerts.
Hildigunnur teaches singing in Domus Vox, school of vocal arts, and in Sigursveinn D. Kristinsson Music School and conducts two choirs in Reykjavík.
Hildigunnur received the Icelandic Music Awards as Singer Of The Year 2023 in classical and contemporary music.
