Pianist
Matthildur Anna Gísladóttir completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Iceland University of the Arts in 2007, where she studied with Peter Máté. She then continued her studies with Andrew West at the Royal Academy of Music in London, graduating with a Master's degree in Accompaniment in 2009.
In 2014, Matthildur completed a Master's degree in Opera Coaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where her principal teachers were Tim Dean and Oliver Rundell. She studied on a full scholarship and was awarded the James H. Geddes Prize for Opera Coaching. During the 2014–15 academic year, she served as an opera coach at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Matthildur has performed extensively in Iceland and abroad and has been involved in numerous opera productions, including collaborations with Kammeróperan, Óperudagar, Icelandic Opera, British Youth Opera, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Clonter Opera, Scottish Opera, Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, and Royal Academy Opera.
Matthildur is currently an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Music at the Iceland University of the Arts.
