Open Call
Applications are open until March 8th
We are now accepting applications from musicians interested in participating in Seigla 2026. The application period is open from February 4th to March 8th, 2026. Apply here.
Seigla 7.-9. August 2026
Seigla will take place at Harpa Concert Hall from August 7th to 9th, 2026. Concerts will be held in Norðurljós Chamber Hall and in open spaces throughout Harpa.
Seigla is a chamber music festival that has been held annually at Harpa since 2021. The festival is known for breaking away from the traditional concert format and offering new and different experiences than typically expected at classical concerts.
Theme: Braid
The theme for Seigla this year is BRAID.
We invite applicants to interpret the theme in whatever way feels appropriate to them. Interpretations may be personal and varied, engaging with different facets of the concert experience and exploring it from different perspectives.
The festival programme from last year’s Seigla is still available on the website here, to give an overview of the kinds of events that have happened in the past. Seigla is also on Facebook and Instagram where you can take a look at past projects and some festival highlights.
The application process
Seigla invites musicians to imagine and propose concerts or music-based events as part of its programme. Ideas may be fully formed or still unfolding, we welcome works in progress, experiments, and new approaches to performance.
To complete the application, please include the following:
• A description of your project
• A proposed programme (repertoire)
• Information about the performer(s)
• Links to previous recordings
There is also space for additional materials if you would like to include a portfolio, CV, press links, or any other relevant information - though these are optional.
You can find answers to some common questions at the bottom of the application page. We encourage you to read through them before submitting your application. If you have further questions, feel free to contact us via social media or reach out directly at info@seiglafestival.com.
Little Seigla
This year we will offer a special programme titled Little Seigla, a childrens’ music festival that will be organised and promoted alongside the main Seigla programme. Little Seigla will consist of a series of events specifically arranged and advertised for the younger generation, where families and children will be warmly welcomed.
You can indicate in your application if you would like your event to be part of Little Seigla. More information can also be found here.
