Pianist

Pianist Ingunn Hildur Hauksdóttir was born in Reykjavík in 1969. She studied with Kristín Ólafsdóttir at the Hafnarfjörður Music School. Ingunn completed her piano teacher and soloist degree from the Reykjavík College of Music in 1993, where she studied with Jónas Ingimundarson. Ingunn attended private lessons for two years in London under the guidance of Roger Vignoles. Ingunn has beenactively involved in the Icelandic music scene during the last 20 years, placing an emphasis on chamber music performance. She has made recordings for radio and CDs and performed at concerts in Iceland and abroad, often focusing on presenting Icelandic music. Ingunn has played with various chamber groups and to name a few performed with the Icelandic Chamber Music Club Vaughan Williams’ piano quintet and sextet, J. N. Hummel, L. Farrenc, F. Schubert and F. Mendelsohn as well as premiered Icelandic music for trio by Elína Gunnlaugsdóttir and Bára Grímsdóttir. Ingunn teaches piano at the Garðabær Music School and works as an accompanist at the Music High School in Reykjavík.
