Fidel Atli Quintero Gasparsson

Fidel Atli Quintero Gasparsson, born in 1996, is currently pursuing a master's degree in viola performance at the University of Music in Freiburg under the guidance of Prof. Wolfram Christ. He first, like so many violists, started studying the violin at the Allegro Suzuki School of Music, but eventually the viola managed to get the better of him. After graduating from the Reykjavík Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Þórunn Ósk Marinósdóttir in 2017, Fidel headed to the Saxon city of Dresden to continue his studies before moving south to Freiburg in the summer of 2021.

Fidel plays regularly in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the chamber ensemble Elja. Abroad, he has performed in concerts with the Dresdner Kapellsolisten and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic.
