Harpist
Elísabet Waage studied harp with Edward Witsenburg at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, the Netherlands and graduated as a soloist and teacher. Elísabet is an active performer of chamber music, both as a member of duos as well as in bigger groups, such as the Caput ensemble. She regularly plays with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Nord and has appeared as a soloist with the Reykjavík Chamber Ensemble, the Icelandic Orchestra, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Nord, the Amateur Symphony, Avanti in Finland, Autunno Ensemble in the Netherlands, Aarhus Sinfonietta in Denmark and Ensemble 6263 in the Faroe Islands.
Graduale Nobili’s and Elísabet’s CD was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards. Her performances with flutist Peter Verduyn Lunel, cellist Gunnar Kvaran and violinist Laufey Sigurðardóttir have been released on several CDs. Many composers have written pieces for Elísabet, among them Jón Nordal, Mist Þorkelsdóttir, John Speight, Páll Ragnar Pálsson, Kolbeinn Bjarnason and Hans-Henrik Nordström. Three times Elísabet has accepted invitations to perform at the World Harp Congress.
Elísabet has been a harp teacher at the Kópavogur Music School since 2002.
