Bryndís Guðjónsdóttir completed her Master’s degree in opera with distinction in 2021 at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, having previously earned her Bachelor’s degree with distinction from the same institution in 2019. She has received numerous awards in Iceland, Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic, and has performed on the stages of opera houses and with symphony orchestras in cities including Semperoper Dresden, Essen, Kiel, Kassel, Martina Franca, Munich, Salzburg, Stuttgart, Prague, Rome, Vilnius, Seville, and Madrid.

Bryndís is the winner of several prestigious European competitions, including the XVIII Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla in Spain, the Riccardo Zandonai Competition in Italy, the Dušek Competition in Prague, and was one of the winners in the “Young Soloists” competition hosted by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

She is a regular guest soloist with the Prague Royal Philharmonic under the baton of Heiko Mathias Förster.

In the past season, Bryndís has performed the role of the Countess in Kammeróperan’s production of Le nozze di Figaro at the Reykjavík City Theatre, appeared in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s Viennese concert, sung Ännchen in Der Freischütz in Kiel, First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Aalto Theater in Essen, and appeared as a soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, and at the Isarphilharmonie, Gasteig in Munich with the Prague Royal Philharmonic.

In 2024, Bryndís was nominated as Singer of the Year.
